In 2010, Water for Tomorrow launched The Duck Knows - Rejuvenate Your Bathroom Contest. York Region residents were asked to submit photos of their bathroom and a short essay describing how they would like their bathroom improved to increase water efficiency. A grand prize of approximately $5,000 was donated by Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse and included WaterSense labelled  fixtures to ensure the greatest water-savings possible. The grand prize winner, Janet Downer from the Town of Newmarket, is now ready to update her "1980s bathroom and give it a complete overhaul".
