Inspections

As part of the application, participants are required to sign an agreement to all terms and conditions, including the authorization of an inspection of the installed toilets and/or clothes washers by representatives of The Regional Municipality of York. 

Approximately 10 per cent of the fixtures purchased and installed are to be randomly chosen and inspected as a condition of the rebate program.  The results of the inspection will be used to confirm the installation of fixtures and to accurately estimate the amount of water saved by participants of the Water for Tomorrow rebate programs, as well as gauge the level of user satisfaction with the programs. These results also help us plan future Water for Tomorrow initiatives. 

If you are selected for an inspection, you will be contacted via telephone to arrange a time that is convenient for the inspector to visit the address you provided as the location of installation. The inspection should take approximately 30 min to 1 hour.

The inspectors will be carrying a York Region security card with their picture and name.  In addition to the inspection, you will be asked several questions regarding your satisfaction with the program.
