Multi-Unit Clothes Washer Replacement Program Terms and Conditions
1. Purchase must be made between January 1, 2012 - December 31, 2012. All submissions must be received within 90 days of the date indicated on the proof of purchase. Final submission date is March 31, 2013. Submissions received longer than 90 days after the indicated purchase date cannot be honoured.
2. Purchase must be of a qualifying clothes washer meeting ENERGY STAR® specifications in effect as of January 1, 2011 during the promotional period and be installed in multiple-unit residences within The Regional Municipality of York. 3. Copy of Proof of Purchase document (sales receipt) must clearly indicate: name, address, and phone number of retailer, and/or contractor; date of purchase; clothes washer model name, manufacturer, and model number; and number of qualifying clothes washers purchased.
4. Application form must be completed in full.
5. An applicant may submit more than one application provided that the application pertains to different clothes washers in the same building.
6. The building where the clothes washer(s) are installed must be in a multiple-unit residence located within The Regional Municipality of York.
7. The clothes washer(s) shall be installed in a communal/shared laundry room of the building.
8. This promotion is applicable to multiple-unit residences and contractors only and is not available for single-family residences or industrial, commercial and institutional facilities.
9. Offer valid only for clothes washers installed as retrofits in existing residences. Clothes washers purchased for new construction do not qualify.
10. The Regional Municipality of York does not warrant the quality of workmanship, the suitability of the premises or the clothes washer for installation, or that the performance of any clothes washer or its installation will be free of defects.
11. The applicant shall indemnify and hold harmless The Regional Municipality of York, its officers, council members, partners, agents and employees, from and against all liabilities and damages, in any way based upon or attributable to, the applicant's participation in the Water Efficient Clothes Washer Rebate Program.
12. The Regional Municipality of York reserves the right to alter, cancel or discontinue this program at any time and to reverse the rebate if the information provided by the applicant is either incorrect, or untrue, or if the Terms & Conditions of this program have not been met.
13. Applicant must provide proof of business location and ownership through a submission of the latest (within four months) water bill from one of York Region's nine municipalities; confirmation that the clothes washers being removed are top loading clothes washers and the clothes washers being installed will be in a shared laundry location.
14. Prior to approval of rebate, applicant must submit an invoice for purchase and/or final installation of qualifying clothes washer(s) dated within 90 days of the submission of the application.
15. Prior to approval of rebate, applicant must agree to an onsite verification of 10 percent of the new fixture installations in each building within 30 days of application.
16. The Regional Municipality of York reserves the right to inspect the installation of the clothes washer(s). This may include an inspection of the residence/building to monitor and evaluate efficiency of the unit(s).
