Industrial, Commercial and Institutional Toilet Replacement Program
Water for Tomorrow is offering rebates to Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) building owners and property managers in York Region on the purchase of eligible water efficient toilets.
The rebate program offers:
- $75 for WaterSense® labeled HET toilets that flush with 4.8 litres or less
- $140 for eligible water-efficient commercial flush valve (flushometer) toilets
Eligible Toilets
Gravity-Fed Toilets
York Region has selected the WaterSense® guidelines for use in York Region's Water for Tomorrow toilet rebate program. The WaterSense® guidelines are the most stringent in their water efficiency and waste removal requirements. This will provide businesses with the most proven water saving-fixtures on the market.
The WaterSense® guidelines require:
- Single flush gravity fed toilets have a flush volume less than or equal to 4.8 litres
- Dual flush toilets have:
1. A full flush volume of less than or equal to 6.0 litres
2. A reduced flush volume of less than or equal to 4.1 litres
- Both single flush and dual flush toilets clear a minimum of 350 grams of waste

Gravity-fed toilets must be WaterSense® labelled to be eligible for a rebate in York Region.

Flushometer Toilets
York Region has selected the MaP Testing Protocol for use in York Region's Water for Tomorrow flushometer toilet rebate program. Eligible flushometer toilet (bowl & valve combinations) must be tested by MaP which have a flush volume less than or equal to 6.0 litres and be capable to clear a minimum of 350 grams of waste.

Step 1

You have the option of pre-registering for the rebates if you would like to ensure your eligibility before proceeding with the purchase and installation of toilets. To pre-register for the Water for Tomorrow ICI toilet rebate program, please click here and have the following information available:
You may also contact Live Customer Care at 1-866-828-3271 to pre-register by phone. On-site verification of replacement products will be required following the installation of the proposed fixtures. |

Step 2 | Online: Complete the online application; upload a scanned copy of your valid proof of purchase (sales/installation invoice) and a copy of the most recent property tax bill |

Step 3 | Allow York Region to conduct a site verification of a minimum of 10 per cent of the installations randomly chosen in each of the buildings. |
Track your rebate status
Check your rebate status online with our 24 hour self serve website. If you used the mail-in option, please allow 4 weeks for us to receive and process your submission before attempting to check your status. Our call centre is also available during regular business hours at 1-866-828-3271.
