Water-Efficient Toilet Rebates

Single-family homeowners in York Region who purchased a WaterSense® labelled toilet before April 30, 2013 can receive a $40 rebate. Please consult the list of eligible models and review the terms and conditions prior to purchase. Only models on the list are eligible for a rebate.

 Eligible Toilets

York Region has selected the WaterSense® guidelines for use in York Region's Water for Tomorrow toilet rebate program for single-family residences. The WaterSense® guidelines are the most stringent in their water efficiency and waste removal requirements. This will provide residents with the most proven water-saving fixtures on the marketfixing toilet.

The WaterSense® guidelines require that:

  • Single flush toilets have a flush volume less than or equal to 4.8 litres
  • Dual flush toilets have:
    • A full flush volume of less than or equal to six litres
    • A reduced flush volume of less than or equal to 4.1 litres
  • Both single flush and dual flush toilets clear a minimum of 350 grams of waste
  • Both single and dual flush toilets must have a sustainable flush design

How to apply for this offer*

Please be advised: To be eligible for this offer, purchase of a qualifying toilet must have been made before April 30, 2013. We will continue to accept applications for up to 90-days past the purchase date until July 31, 2013.

Step 1: Purchase a qualifying HET (High-Efficiency) or DF (Dual Flush) toilet to be installed in a single-family, private residence located within The Regional Municipality of York (maximum two toilets per location).

Step 2: Click here to submit your application online. You will need the make and model number of your toilet and a scan of your valid proof of purchase (sales receipt).

If you purchased your toilet(s) on or before December 31, 2012, click here to download the application form. If you purchased your toilet(s) on or after January 1, 2013, click here to download the application form. Mail or fax the completed form and a legible copy of your valid proof of purchase (sales receipt) to:

NOTE: Whichever method you select, your submission must be received within 90 days of the purchase date indicated on your submitted proof of purchase to qualify for the rebate. Do not send the original, as it cannot be returned and may be required for warranty purposes. Participants are advised to keep a copy of all elements that are submitted, for their records.

 

Tracking your rebate status

Check your rebate status online with our 24-hour self serve website. If you used the mail-in option, please allow four weeks for us to receive and process your submission before attempting to check your status. Our call centre is also available during regular business hours at 1-800-215-4060.
