Water Efficient Furnace Mounted Humidifier Rebates

Inefficient furnace mounted humidifiers can waste as much as 200 litres of water per day.  By replacing your inefficient humidifier with a new, York Region-approved, water-efficient furnace mounted humidifier, you can reduce the amount of water wasted and receive a $30 or $70 rebate.

The residential humidifier rebate program offers:

  •  $30 rebate for an approved, furnace mounted humidifier that sends 10 to 50 litres of water to the drain per day
  •  $70 rebate for an approved, furnace mounted humidifier that sends less than 10 litres of water to the drain per day

Please consult the list of eligible models and review the terms and conditions prior to purchase.  Only those models on the list are eligible for rebate.

 

Eligible Humidifiers

York Region has investigated various models of humidifiers that are currently available on the market.  All York Region-approved furnace mounted humidifiers have been tested using the following criteria:

  • Volume of water wasted to drain cannot exceed 50 litre per day
  • Humidifier cannot contain standing water for greater than 48 hours
  • Humidifier must not require the owner to change/clean more than two filter/evaporative media per heating season

PLEASE NOTE: The Desert Spring Rotary Disk humidifier (model # DS-3200) MUST INCLUDE the AutoFlush (model # DS-AF5).  The AutoFlush may be sold separately. 

 

How to apply for this offer

 Step 1   Purchase a qualifying furnace mounted humidifier to be installed in a single-family private 

                residence located within The Regional Municipality of York

Step 2   Click here to submit your application online.  You will need the make and model number of your humidifier and a scan of your valid proof of purchase (sales receipt).

NOTE:  Whichever method you select, your submission must be received within 90 days of the purchase date indicated on your submitted proof of purchase to qualify for the rebate. Do not send the original, as it cannot be returned and may be required for warranty purposes. For record-keeping purposes, participants are advised to keep a copy of all documents submitted to the program.

For rebate applications submitted on or before April 1, 2012 - please call 1-866-828-3271 to check the status of your rebate application

For rebate applications submitted on or after April 2, 2012 - check your rebate status online with our 24 hour self serve website. If you used the mail-in option, please allow 4 weeks for us to receive and process your submission before attempting to check your status. The call centre is also available during regular business hours at 1-800-215-4060.
