Water and Wastewater Master Plan Update

The Water and Wastewater Master Plan Update (currently underway) will be a 40-50 year planning blueprint for water and wastewater services in York Region.  This will ensure the creation and maintenance of efficient facilities to service our residents. We are striving to achieve the highest possible standard of environmental sustainability through this update.

The Water and Wastewater Master Plan Update incorporates the Water Efficiency Master Plan's expected water savings, reducing per capita water usage.  It also considers additional water efficiency and conservation for

For the update of the Water and Wastewater Master Plan, York Region developed water and wastewater Sustainability Principles which will help guide servicing for sustainability. Wise use of water was identified as one of the 10 themes under which the guiding principles were established.
