Thanks to the community, Water for Tomorrow has been recognized many times since 1998.

September 2010 - Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA) recognizes the Regional Municipality of York as a recipient of the the "Watershed Heroes" Education Award for its creative water education programs, including the York Children's Water Festival and the "Tap'd In" promotional trailer
September 2010 - Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA) recognizes the Regional Municipality of York as the recipient of the "Watershed Heroes" Water Conservation Award for its innovative and extremely successful Water for Tomorrow program
2008 - Ontario Water Works Association (OWWA) Excellence in Water Efficiency award for York Region's Water Efficiency Master Plan Update
March 2008 - Canada Blooms award in partnership with the Regions of Peel and Halton and the City of Toronto, Toronto Botanical Gardens for the water efficient garden "Beautifully Parched" at the Canada Blooms Gardening Festival designed by PMG Landscape Design
2006 - OWWA Award of Excellence for overall Water for Tomorrow Program
March 2003 - Recognized by World Water Forum in Kyoto, Japan
2002 - Student Education Component received Honourable Mention from Federation of Canadian of Municipalities (FCM) Sustainable Communities Awards
